This is Richie Kotzen’s personal 1-of-1 Starfield, hand-built in 1992 at the Ibanez L.A. Custom Shop during the final phase of his pre-Fender era. This guitar is a true one-off, unlike any production Starfield ever released.

Crafted side-by-side with master luthier Mike Lipe, this guitar reflects Richie’s vision from top to bottom. It was part of the creative phase as Ibanez explored where to take Richie’s gear before he eventually moved to Fender. What came out of that collaboration is one of the most visually and sonically stunning guitars ever built under the Starfield name.

It was  featured in a full-page 1992 Starfield magazine ad, which is included and signed by Richie. The ad highlights a standard blue Cabriolet model — but in the black-and-white photo, Richie is shown playing THIS exact guitar.
